The Definition of You

What defines the person you are today? Who people think you are doesn't define you. What you or others see in yourself doesn't define you. What you may see in the mirror every day, doesn't define you. What people say about you, doesn't define you. What you do for a living, doesn't define you. If you were born with a disability, your disability doesn't define you.

You are NOT just that person who can't walk or the boy who may not be able to see the outside world. We are not what we struggle with from day to day; we are so much more than the things that try to define us.

We are human beings. A beautiful creation of God who formed us with a love like no other love in the world. We know with Him we can do so many amazing things with our lives, there are no limits to what can be achieved as long as we have faith that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. We are not created to do just what others think we can do. We are not here to set limits. We are here to experience all that life has to offer us and to take as many opportunities as we can in the time we have on earth. We are here to do things we never thought were possible. Our lives are our own.

When looking at yourself, don't just look at what you can see, go beyond that. Look into the heart of who you are. Be proud to be who you are and don't let negativity take over you. Don't let it make you feel worthless. God doesn't make anything that is worthless. We are a treasure to Him and that is how we should see ourselves.

Have fun, enjoy yourself and learn something new every day. Count your blessings and live life to the fullest. Be helpful, be kind, be patient with yourself, and be compassionate with others. Let everyone you come in contact with know God loves them. He wants all of us to do our best with the life He has planned for us. Do your best every day to embrace who you are and the life God gave you.
