My Testimony: The power of Faith and Love

We all have a testimony, something that has brought us to the place we are right now. It's not the same for everyone but it is what make us different unique individuals. The journey to our testimony is set to be discovered even before our lives begin. It is something that will continue to unfold minute by minute as life moves forward with each new day that goes by.

God created us with a story to share, maybe it's not something for everyone to know or to hear but we all have our own story to tell to encourage people along the way. It is true that life is not a walk in the park for any of us, we all experience the good, the bad and the ugly but I believe our shared experiences could offer hope to others. I am proof that while life can be tough, you can search for the good and find it if you'll look hard enough for it.

My story began the day it was confirmed I was on the way. A time of joy and excitement right? You would think but that's not the case for everyone. It wasn't long after that everything changed. What should have been a time to celebrate turned into fear and anticipation of what was to come in the days, weeks and months ahead for not only me but for my family as well.

The time came to find out a blue nursery or a pink one but more than the gender was discovered that day. It was confirmed that I had Spina Bifida with Hydrocephalus. The doctors filled my family with all the negative things they know that come with Spina Bifida. I would never walk, talk, read, write or be able to function normally. I wasn't expected to make it through the first night and even if I did life would be short lived for me.

The day I was born while everyone was waiting to hear news of my arrival or if I was even alive God whispered in my ear follow me my child you are not alone I will fight with you. He said move over doctors I've got this she's mine and in my hands now. Over the course of my 30 years of life I have been through some pretty rough stuff but God's promise held strong and true and He's walked beside me since day one.

I have fought throughout my lifetime, I know life doesn't come without working through the struggles but it has made me the person I am today. I am grateful because I am a strong woman who is capable of great things because I have God, my family and everyone in my life right next to my side every step of the way.

I couldn't be more grateful for the privilege of living life because now I am able to share all the good things God is with people every day. What's your story? I would love to hear it.
