I stumbled on an interesting question as I thumbed through my Facebook news feed years ago.
The question read, "If you could be totally able bodied for one hour only what would you do?
I gave some thought to how I would respond and came up with this conclusion. I wouldn't want to be fully able bodied if given the chance for only an hour. God creates us with a purpose I was created for His purpose even if we may not always understand who are we to question his wisdom?
We may never know what our future holds but we are given the opportunity to know who tenderly and carefully holds our future in his hands if only we choose to believe in Him. I put my trust in Him because he is a faithful loving God. You can never go wrong when you trust Jesus.
I have never had a moment I thought "I wish I did not have Spina Bifida. It is a part of me but it's not all I am. There is a purpose and a plan for our lives so instead I am grateful because I look at it as a gift God gave me.
I am a woman who laughs, who cries, who smiles, who feels things, who relies on faith and the support of family and friends to face challenges. A woman who enjoys the gift of life just like everyone else does. It hasn't taken anything away from me it has given me strength to be whoever I want to be despite it.
God has taught me along the way I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am so thankful for the opportunity to experience the gift of life for as long as God allows me.
